Campout & Outing Report

Heartland District Camporee 2006 was great fun!

Our guys got to spend some time with their friends from Troop 80, and met many new friends from around the District.

Friction firebuilding was taught by our guys using the ``EDGE`` teaching method and what a great job they did!

Scoutmaster Jerry`s ``Screaming Eagle Chili`` was fantastic!

Thanks to Scoutmaster Dave for bringing the fire barrel as it was our first frost of the year.

Mr. Hank stopped by for chili and a chat, and our SM`s met many other swell adult leaders from the Heartland District.

The scouts that attended our demo were a great group of guys that were very polite and showed great interest. We are already looking forward to Winter Camp 2007!

Mission Accomplished!

Our campout at Lake Norman SP was a smashing success.

Although the load in and out was no small chore, the guys

all pulled together and made it look easy. Thanks Scoutmaster Jerry, son

Tanner, and Scott B.  for the early arrival and set up.

Our next heavy campout will be a drive up site.

The compass hike went great, and waterskiing / motor boating

was another successful and fun venture? Thanks Scoutmaster David!

Many steps were accomplished for ranks and merit badges.

We even had a visit from our Heartland District Commissioner Mr. Hank

Kaczmarek! Thanks Mr. Hank for taking the time to drop by.

The food was plentiful and tasted great, especially the tinfoil dinners and beef

stew. Breakfast was wonderful and Austin M`s pancakes were a hit. We challenged

another scout troop camping nearby to a volleyball game but they had to strike camp

and couldn’t make it. T83 formed teams and had a great game.

Thanks to all the adults that have given their time to make this outing possible.

Thanks to the wonderful members of Hills Chapel Church that sponsor Troop83!
